Welcome to my blog...

I wanted to create a space where I can express myself, my interests and the things I've learned from motherhood thus far. I hope you find something here that makes you smile, teaches you something or makes your journey through parenting easier...enjoy.

Our new addition

I couldn't help it, it was love at first sight. He stared up at me with those take me home eyes and I caved, plus our dog Nook needed a friend, so the next day I convinced my man to come and have a look...we brought him home half an hour later, Yay! Obi is our Shih-Tzu x Maltese pup and he is just the sweetest thing, super fat and cuddly. He also doesn't shed hair and is hypo allergenic-OMG! Yes, he cost a bomb but is so awesome and worth it, plus, you know, I'm turning 25 in 2 weeks so its kind of an early present and our dog and cat adore him...look at me trying to justify my outrageous spending. I try so hard to reign in that ever growing grocery bill and make my own cleaners etc. But hey everyone has to indulge sometime and I don't do things by halves. Hmmm will put up photos of our darling pets...eventually.

Bigs 5th birthday photos

This was Bigs cake, we got the idea from greatfun4kids blog-this woman is amazing! Then I was browsing through a 1,2,3 dollar shop(always a great place to find partydecorations and loot bag stuffers for cheap) and found these sparkler candle which I thought would be a great way to make our volcanoe "erupt" the effect was awesome and exactly what I wanted.

Bigs pinata, a last minutes idea from Big so not exactly dinosaur themed but still pretty awesome. I was going to make a dinosaur egg filled with goodies but we just ran out of time. Hint: when doing a pinata use wrapped lollies as they are going to explode out of it and land in the garden and all over the place, we put glitter and sparkles in ours too.

Bigs Ben10 cake, yes he had two cakes for his birthday as we went out for dinner on his actual birthday to celebrate. I got the edible icing image from the cheesecake shop, they have alsorts to pick from and the cost about $15.oo(they are purely for looks though they taste pretty blah)

Good-bye Kindy kid and Hello big school boy!! Bigs playdough cake and birthday crown, made with help from mummy!
